“ This charming little coffee shop is tucked next to a church and right across from West Cliff Drive, offering a picturesque location. I absolutely loved the calming ambiance - The staff is warm and welcoming, and the space is beautifully decorated with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Plus, the large parking lot nearby is a huge convenience. My only complaint is with the cappuccino - it was far too milky for my taste. I’ve given it several tries because I really wanted to love it, but it just didn’t hit the mark for me. ”

“ I have to admit, I was actually super nervous about going into a church for well-rated coffee. Was it just the parishioners that banded together to rate it? Would I burn? I was so delighted that I stayed the course and gathered the courage to enter. The atmosphere is beautiful, both the indoor cool vibe and the peaceful outdoor seating that is surrounded by incredible gardens. The coffee was also divine! (Pun intended) I had the cappuccino which came with lovely art and a delicious taste. I highly recommend that you stop in if you are anywhere near Santa Cruz. I loved it so much I even bought the beans. (Sanctuary!) ”

“ My first and best cafe I’ve been so far in Santa Cruz. It is located next to a church and it’s very convenient for those who want to straight here after church or a long trip going here. When I arrived, it was a long line and probably most people in line are from church next door. The ambiance isn’t only nice here but also the exterior. It’s a really nice place to hangout and chill especially that it’s next to the oceans (well not really close to it). They also have merch that you can purchase I think. I didn’t get a chance to eat something here since I want to have cravings elsewhere, but next time when I come back, I’ll try any foods here. ”

“ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely café by a stunning rocky beach! We were lucky — there was a surfing competition that day, which made the visit even more special. The café has a calm, pleasant atmosphere with a mix of people: some working quietly with laptops and headphones, others chatting in pairs or families with kids. The coffee is real and high-quality , and I highly recommend the cheese croissant – flaky and rich with perfect layers – and the almond croissant, just as delicious. Orders are placed at the counter, and the cashier was especially sweet ”

“ Simple menu with all the basics , delicious food, unbeatable views of the pacific from the parking lot, and fantastic indoor and outdoor seating options with a beautiful beautiful beautiful garden to stroll around. Oh and it’s a non profit venture of the church so that’s kind of interesting ”

“ Shrine Coffee is the BEST idea a church has had (since salvation)!!! This was my morning home for the week I spent in Sta Cruz, and the only place I truly miss. The place is beautiful, parking is easy, the food and coffee are insanely good (oh my, the honey lavender latte ). And the magic of this spot, as always, is the people working here. Anne Marie welcomes you with a genuine presence, and Hunter makes delicious drinks! Always remember to tip I wish every church had a shrine like this. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you live or visit town! ”
